Keeping an orderly bedroom may be easy for some and difficult for others. The secret lies in having proper storage spaces. Following are some innovative bedroom storage schemes to clear your sanctuary of clutter.

Under the Bed Drawers

Most modern beds have drawers underneath. These drawers will be a great help if you put the proper items. What must go inside these under the bed drawers? Put the items that you do not use every day. Thus, keep your linens, bed sheets, pillowcases, blankets, duvet, drapes, curtains, rugs and carpets. This will make it easier for you to get these items instead of rummaging among your things if you have some guests who will stay for the night.

You can also group these items depending on the regularity of their usage. You can assign a drawer for all items that are regularly used and another for those that are used every 2 weeks or monthly. Labeling the drawers will be of great assistance, too.

If your bed does not have underneath drawers, then make use of storage carts with wheels for easy maneuvering.

You can have drawers or shelves underneath the bench. Best items to keep here are your shoes, old books that you still want to keep, light flimsy curtains and other paraphernalia. Put some cushions and throw pillows on the bench to make it cozier.

Locker or cabinet for accessories. This will be very functional and well-liked by the female sex. Of the two sexes, females have the most dress accessories. We have bags of different kinds, belts, scarves, hats, gloves, etc. Each of us has a pent-up fancy for a particular thing that we amass a number of these items. The problem is we just stack it inside our wardrobe and we spent hours looking for them. A cabinet that is specifically designed for these accessories will indeed put more order in our bedroom. Have clips to hang your bags and belts. Install plywood for your shoes. Have small hooks to hang your earrings and bracelets. You can also have a small drawer for your watches. Another shelf can be assigned for your perfume, cologne and make-up although this is not necessary if you have a dresser.

However, if you do not have this furniture, you can also have a mirror installed at the inner side of the cabinet's door.

If you do some writing, office or homework inside your bedroom, make sure that you have a desk with drawers to keep your stuff. Have a table organizer to keep your pens, pencils, paper clips, stapler and all sorts of stuff that you use when working. Have a chair that has a small storage space underneath.

Modern furniture has come up with plenty of practical ideas to make them more functional. Modern beds have headboards that have fitted shelves to hold your books, alarm clock, etc. Some even have headboards that have headlamps and built-in side tables. Other modern beds have built in compartment nightstands that fuse with the bed's design.

Putting order in your bedroom does not need to be very expensive. If your resources will permit it, you can buy new ones or make storage spaces. Resourcefulness is all you need.
